BENEFITS OF CMT (MASSAGE)
Massage has many benefits to help improve movement & comfort for your dog:

•  Assisting with rehabilitation after surgery or injury
•  Arthritis – hips, knees, elbows, shoulders
•  Elderly dogs
•  Overweight dogs
•  Chronic or disabling conditions
•  Anxiety or stress
•  Athletes pre & post training
•  Show dogs
•  Working dogs

Physical & Psychological
Massage improves the circulation to the muscles (nutrients) and aids lymphatic drainage (toxins).
By releasing muscle spasm and trigger points, your
dog will feel more comfortable and is likely to
have increased mobility.

For dogs that have been re-homed, had a traumatic experience, or have perpetual ‘bad-hair’ days,
massage can help build trust in human touch and reduce anxiety.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

If your dog has a condition where it may be detrimental
to his health to perform a massage,
I will recommend that you seek veterinary advice.
After all, our primary concern is your best friend.
These may include:

•  Skin infection
•  Open wound
•  Recent trauma or burns
•  Possible spinal injury not assessed by vet
•  Fever
•  Aggressive dog
•  Certain medications

CMT is a complementary therapy for dogs. It is not a substitute for veterinary care and I do not diagnose
medical problems.  However, using CMT in
combination with your vet’s treatments can
greatly enhance your dog’s quality of life.

As necessary (and with your permission),
I will liaise with your veterinarian so that
we can provide the best outcome
for your pet.
